Dodge is introducing special edition "Green With Envy" 2011 Challengers to make absolutely sure that drivers of the boldly styled muscle car don't go unnoticed.
“We’re using Green With Envy on the new 2011 Dodge Challengers to pay tribute to some of the coolest paint colors from our past, including the 'Sublime' and 'Green Go' Dodge Challengers from the 1970s and more recently, the 'Snakeskin Green' Vipers from 2008-2010,” said Ralph Gilles, head of the Dodge brand.
The Green With Envy color is exclusive to Dodge, and is offered on the 5.7-liter and 6.4-liter V-8 models. The 2011 Challenger R/T Classic with the bright green paint has exterior stripes in matte black or white plus five-spoke cast-aluminum wheels and Dark Slate Nappa leather seats featuring Green With Envy accent stitching. This special edition model will carry a starting price of about $36,000.
The Green With Envy Challenger SRT8 will have full-body black stripes and 20-inch SRT-exclusive wheels. The interior's leather seats have Green With Envy accents. Of course, the most important feature of this car is the 6.4-liter V-8 engine producing 470 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. The special edition's base price is about $45,000.
If you're now interested in a 2011 Challenger but aren't interested in bright green paint, Dodge now offers the SRT8 model in Billet Metallic Clear Coat, Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl Coat, Redline 3 Pearl Coat, and Toxic Orange Pearl Coat. Both the R/T and SRT8 models make available a five-speed automatic transmission in addition to the six-speed manual transmission.
